Test connected devices

Check a keyboard, microphone, webcam, audio channels, screen, gamepad, or display refresh rate with focused tests.

Focused checks without an install

Choose the device and test you need. Permission-based tests wait for your action, and each result appears on the current page.

Before you begin

Which environments work best?

A recent environment with the required permissions and direct access to the device gives the clearest result. Close other apps that may be using a microphone or camera, reduce demanding background work for timing tests, and connect external hardware securely. Remote desktops, virtual machines, wireless codecs, adapters, privacy controls, remapping tools, and power-saving modes can change what the test can observe. Repeat the same check under stable conditions and compare it with operating system settings or another known-good application.

Do I need to install anything?

No installation is required for the listed checks. Select the focused test for the keyboard, microphone, camera, audio output, screen, gamepad, or refresh rate and follow its visible instructions. Lack of installation does not make the result universal. Drivers, firmware, connection type, operating system settings, permissions, hardware controls, and other active applications can affect behavior. Use the result as evidence for troubleshooting, then reproduce an important fault with another tool, connection, or machine before arranging repair or replacement.

Why must I grant camera or microphone access?

Camera and microphone access is needed only when a test must receive the live stream you explicitly start. Without permission, the test cannot display the camera preview, waveform, level, resolution, or frame-rate information. Confirm the selected input, allow access when you intend to test it, and stop the session when finished. If permission was denied earlier, review site and operating system controls. Never grant access for a test you did not initiate or when the page identity is uncertain.
