Transparency depends on the destination format. PNG and WebP can represent transparent pixels, so transparent areas can remain transparent when the source contains them. JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent pixels must become a visible color. When PNG is JPG, choose the background color that should replace those areas and check edges around logos, icons, cut-out products, and anti-aliased shapes. A white background is common for documents and marketplaces, but it may be wrong for artwork intended for a dark layout.
